SANFORD, Fla. — Heavy rains flooded parts of Sanford on Sunday evening, where areas of the town saw up to six inches of rain.
In fact, it rained so hard that there was significant flooding to the downtown area and several roads were closed for part of the evening.
The Sanford Police Department and the Seminole County Emergency managers not only confirmed that roads were closed, but people were calling from their vehicles, stranded.
#traffic Due to flooding on the roadways, we are asking for motorists to avoid 25th Street to the Lakefront, west of 17-92 to Airport Blvd, and East to Celery Ave. Please take alternate routes. pic.twitter.com/dotMbk0wPX

And the water was so bad that it reached up to a Sanford-area home.
