This year's version of the attraction, opening Friday, is inspired by the animated TV special "A Charlie Brown Christmas," and it features large ice sculptures of the Peanuts characters, including Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Lucy and Sally.

Chinese artisans arrived in October and spent about a month in the freezing exhibit space carving the figures from 2 million pounds of ice.

Lighting effects and music help bring the Charlie Brown Christmas story to life. Visitors will make their way through scenes that include Charlie Brown and Linus picking out a Christmas tree and the Peanuts gang singing around the tree.

The exhibit also features the popular slide room, which, this year, has been redesigned for crowd flow and to allow for better photo ops.

At the very end, visitors will find a Nativity scene made of crystal-clear ice.

To keep the ice sculptures solid during ICE's run, the exhibits space is kept at a frigid 9 degrees. Visitors are encouraged to wear layers, but Gaylord Palms provides large blue parkas to be worn inside.

Beyond ICE, the hotel's other holiday offerings include the Cirque: Spirit of Christmas show, a Christmas tree trail, a light show in the atrium and a holiday-themed escape room.

The attraction runs daily through Jan. 3. Tickets start at $32.99 for adults and $22.99 for children.
