SANFORD, Fla. — Traditional Asian lantern festivals are celebrated in during Seminole County tradition.
1. The Asian Lantern Festival is happening now at the Central Florida Zoo and Botanical Gardens in Sanford.
2. The theme this year is “Into The Wild.”
3. At sunset, the entire zoo is transformed by dozens of all-new, hand constructed lantern displays illuminated by thousands of LED lights. Each year, creators strive to make every display and every scene different.
4. “There’s a lot of different interactives this year,” said zoo director, Stephanie Williams. “There are a lot of new moving pieces this year. So we’re very excited to have it back.”
5. The Fest also has specialty music, food and beverages as well. The interactives are lined up along a three-quarter mile path. The Asian Lantern Festival runs though January 19, 2025.
