VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — The state of Florida has opened three comfort stations in Volusia County this week to help residents who were impacted by Hurricane Milton.
Each comfort station offers restrooms, showers and laundry trailers.
The stations are operational 24 hours a day at the following locations:
- Pierson Town Center — 116 W. 1st. Ave., Pierson
- Stone Island — 401 Stone Island Road, Enterprise
- Road & Bridge Office — 2560 W. State Road 44, Deland (access via Carlis Road)
Volusia County residents can also apply for federal assistance, as Federal Emergency Management Agency has declared the county a disaster area, which unlocks individual and public assistance, along with hazard mitigation, to help in recovery.
Residents can submit their applications online at www.disasterassistance.gov, through the FEMA mobile app, or by calling 800-621-3362.
