Singer Gloria Estefan, along with her husband Emilio Estefan, rode the new roller coaster.
The singer’s song “Conga” is one of six tunes featured on the soundtrack for the ride.
In a video shared by Disney, Gloria and Emilio Estefan talked about what it meant to have the song featured in the attraction.
“So it is so special that new generations will be hearing the song on this ride because they will make the connection of ‘Conga’ to fun,” Gloria Estefan said.
“It’s so beautiful to be in the ride and listen to all the Latino sound that was done so many years ago,” Emilio Estefan said. “It brings a lot of pride to our community.”
Other songs featured on the Cosmic Rewind’s “Awesome Mix” include “September” by Earth, Wind & Fire; “One Way or Another” by Blondie; Everybody Wants to Rule the World by Tears for Fears; “I Ran” by A Flock of Seagulls” and “Disco Inferno” by The Trammps.
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind officially opened on May 27. The attraction, one of the longest indoor coasters in the world, is part of the multi-phase transformation underway at Epcot.
