ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — The woman who died after a Pine Hills crash July 31 wasn't a random pedestrian.
Candice Elizabeth Colvert, 34, who was killed in the crash, had a rocky relationship with one of the drivers, Kenneth Bernell Postell, according to authorities.
After a months-long investigation, the Orange County Sheriff's Office arrested Postell on Thursday, charging him with first-degree murder in Colvert's death.

Deputies responded at 3:17 a.m. July 31 to Pine Hills and Indian Hill roads after getting a report of a vehicle hitting a pedestrian.
They found two vehicles - Postell's Ford F350 and another driver's Chevrolet Malibu - crashed in a "T-bone style accident" in the southbound lanes of Pine Hills Road, the report said.
Colvert was found on grass between the road and sidewalk suffering from numerous injuries.
She was rushed to Orlando Regional Medical Center, where she died.
A Florida Highway Patrol investigator determined Postell's truck was heading north before it veered across the center lane and into the southbound lanes, hitting Colvert.
The driver of the Malibu said he was heading south on Pine Hills Road when he hit Postell's truck, which was stopped in the middle of the road with no lights on.
Postell initially told FHP troopers the Malibu hit Colvert before it crashed into his truck's passenger side.
But he declined to be interviewed after an officer told Postell he was conducting a criminal traffic accident investigation.
"According to FHP, Kenneth barely reacted to or showed signs of sadness and despair after learning of her death," the arrest report says.
Colvert's father told investigators his daughter and Postell "had a long history of domestic violence," the report said. Her father said he thought she had moved to New York to get away from Postell.
An investigator reviewed body cam footage of first responders to the crash.
A firefighter asked Postell if Colvert was in his truck at the time of the crash.
"Nah nah, she was crossing the road, I was trying to pick her up," Postell responded.
One of Colvert's friends told investigators Postell attacked Colvert regularly.
Once, Postell tried to back over Colvert as they argued, the friend said.
