Country music star Jason Aldean will soon take the stage at the Lakview Ampitheater. And concert-goers should make sure they have their tarps handy.
"We're going to allow people to bring tarps in with blankets which normally you can't. Obviously acknowledging that the grass, certain parts of the lawn will be wet," said Onondaga County Executive Ryan McMahon.
A string of rainy days has made lawn seating damp, if not muddy according to SMG staff. But the Onondaga County Executive doesn't want that to dampen the spirits of music-lovers because he says there's a lot to look forward to this concert season.
"But we've made some good improvements to this facility that will help enhance fan experience but also maintaining the property going forward," said McMahon.
Improvements that include new black-top paving on the west-side, near the bathrooms. There will be additional food trucks available on the east side of the amp. New security lighting will also make exiting safer for concert-goers, according to the county executive.
There will be new food to enjoy, too. Twin Trees, Glazed and Confused and Bull and Bear will all have booths or food trucks at the amp. Bull and Bear will be offering the Amp'd Up Burger and Poutine throughout the concert season.
As for future improvements to the ampitheater, the county executive says we'll just have to wait and see what the future holds.
