LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. — Disney World has set a reopening date for one of its water parks as it prepares to close the other for refurbishment.

Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon will reopen March 17, the resort announced Thursday. The water park has been closed for its seasonal refurbishment since Nov. 6.

With the return of Typhoon Lagoon, Disney will close Blizzard Beach for its own refurbishment. Its last day to be open this season will be March 16.

Since 2021, Disney has alternated the operation of the water parks by only having one open at a time.

Typhoon Lagoon, the tropical-themed water park, features a variety of attractions, including the Castaway Creek lazy river, Crush ’n’ Gusher slide and its large wave pool.
