The slide, named Tassie’s Underwater Twist, will take riders through Australia’s Shark Bay seagrass meadow.
Riders will be on two-person inner tubes and travel through the 129-foot long slide, which will also feature a bowl element. Once inside the bowl, riders will be surrounded by “lush seagrass meadows, schools of colorful fish, and even the occasional shark,” according to a news release.
The attraction will feature a synchronized video display where projections will create the underwater world, while an orchestral score plays throughout.
“We’ve crafted an experience that will not only delight slide enthusiast but also create lasting. Memories for families and friends,” Aquatica president Brad Gilmour said. “With Tassie’s Underwater Twist, we invite guests to dive into an underwater world of wonder, where fun and excitement meet curiosity and education.”
The attraction will also have an education component that shows riders the importances of seagrass meadows on marine life.
Tassie’s Underwater Twist is part of SeaWorld’s strategy to open a new attraction at its parks every year. Aquatica opened Turi’s Kid Cove earlier this year. In 2022, it opened its revamped water slide Reef Plunge.
