The calendar for the two-night, interactive Star Wars experience shows that the cutback will begin in October. In the months prior to October, Disney is offering three to four voyages per week.
Spectrum News has reached out to Disney about the change but has yet to receive a response.
Galactic Starcruiser, often referred to as the “Star Wars hotel,” debuted in March of 2022. It offers Star Wars fans a chance to live out their own Star Wars story on a ship known as the Halcyon just as a battle between the Resistance and the First Order unfolds around them. The experience offers a mix of immersive theater and live-action role-playing.
Once aboard the ship, fans can meet Star Wars characters, join characters on missions, participate in lightsaber training and take an excursion to Batuu (Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios).
But from the onset, many fans said they felt the experience — priced at nearly $5,000 for two people in a standard cabin — was too expensive.
In recent months, Disney has offered discounts for Galactic Starcruiser. In January, the resort launched a discount of up to $700 to guests who combined a two-night stay at a participating Disney World hotel with a Galactic Starcruiser voyage.
Last month, Disney began offering discounts to cast members for select voyage dates.
