The restaurant, located next to the park’s Mission: Space attraction, will debut Sept. 20.
Disney shared the update on Instagram along with a video of the restaurant’s “space elevator” in action.
The new dining experience, described by Disney as “out-of-this-world,” is designed to create the illusion that guests are dining 220 miles above Earth—hence the restaurant’s name.
Before they dine, guests will board one of the space elevators to be transported the space station. After they arrive at the space station, guests will be able to enjoy panoramic views of Earth as well as partake in a menu that features modern American cuisine, fine wine and a selection of craft beer.
The restaurant will offer a two-course prix fixe menu for lunch and a three-course prix fixe menu for dinner.
Space 220 was originally expected open in 2019 but faced numerous delays. It now arrives just over a week before Disney World kicks off its 50th anniversary celebration on Oct. 1.
