ORLANDO, Fla. -- Gran Destino Tower is the newest addition to Disney's Coronado Springs Resort.
- Gran Destino adds 545 new rooms to Disney's Coronado Springs Resort
- New tower features two-story lobby, rooftop dining locations and meeting spaces
- Another new addition: Three Bridges Bar & Grill at Villa del Lago
The tower, which officially opens July 9, includes a two-story lobby, meeting spaces, two rooftop dining locations and 545 new guests rooms--50 of which are suites.
Disney's animated short film "Destino," which was a collaboration between Walt Disney and Surrealist artist Salvador Dali, serves as inspiration for the new tower.
Design elements that pay homage to the Catalan Modernism sytle are also incorporated throughout the tower, including decorative wooden screens and hanging lanterns.
On the lobby's lower level is the Barcelona Lounge, which features a bar, seating and views of the resort's lake.
Outside, guests can cross one of three newly-constructed bridges to reach Villa del Lago, which sits in the middle of the lake. The new area features meeting spaces as well as the new Three Bridges Bar & Grill. The restaurant's menu includes items such as curry-lentil hummus, chicken biscuit sliders, lamb chops, fried shrimp corn dogs and a variety of specialty cocktails, wine and sangria.
Back inside, guests will find rooms that also feature Spanish design elements such as tile medallions on the walls. The guests rooms at Gran Destino are the first at Disney World to feature interactive televisons. In addition to watching TV shows and movies, guests will be able to see their My Disney Experience plans on the screen as well as link streaming services from their personal devices.
At the very top of the tower, on the 16th floor, are two rooftop dining locations--Dahlia Lounge and Toledo-Tapas, Steak & Seafood. Signature cocktails are served at the Dahlia Louge, which offers panoramic views of the surrounding resorts and theme parks. Next to the lounge, Toledo-Tapas, Steak & Seafood offers a table-service dining and features a Spanish-inspired menu.
Gran Destino Tower will also serve as the check-in location for guests arriving at Coronado Springs Resort.
