ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – Walt Disney World has reopened some of its resort hotels Monday after closing them in mid-March because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Disney Deluxe Villa Resorts like Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows, Disney’s Riviera Resort and the Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort welcomed back guests for the first time in three months.
Guests will notice several changes at the resorts, including new health and safety measures due to the ongoing pandemic. Hotel guests ages 2 and older are required to wear face masks in public areas of the hotels, except when swimming or dining.
Where available, guests are encouraged to use the online check-in system to reduce contact. Inside the rooms, Disney will also be implementing new cleaning procedures.
Some amenities will also not be available during the initial reopening.
Disney World has also set reopening dates for its other resort hotels, but cautioned that the dates could change “given the fluidity of the current environment.”
The schedule, for now, is as follows:
- July 10 – Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas-Jambo House, Disney’s Pop Century Resort, Disney’s Contemporary Resort
- July 29 – Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort
- August 12 – Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and Disney’s Art of Animation Resort
- August 24 – Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club Resorts
- September 21 – Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
- October 1 – Disney’s BoardWalk Resort
- October 14 – Disney’s Coronado Springs Resorts
Disney World’s theme parks will reopen to the public next month. Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Animal Kingdom will reopen July 11 followed by Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios on July 15.
Visitors will need to make a reservation in order to visit the parks. The new reservation system launched on Monday.
