We’re about to get relief from our recent drought conditions as tropical moisture moves up the peninsula this week.
A stream of moisture from the Caribbean will spread toward us over the next several days, with rain and rumble coverage bumping up. Although we are not forecasting severe weather, locally heavy rain is possible in anything developing from Tuesday through Thursday.
This appears to be a drought-busting rain with most of us picking up at least an inch or two, and several inches are in the works for severe drought-stricken southern Brevard and southern Osceola Counties through Friday.
Rain may lead to ponding on area roadways, but because our ground is so dry, it’ll absorb the needed moisture. We’ll watch Orlando metro neighborhoods who picked up several inches of rain during severe weather last week. These areas may see a little more standing water. Welcome to rainy season!
