ORLANDO, Fla. — A two-year-old child is dead and an 8 year old is severely injured after a crash at Lake Underhill, stated the Orlando Police Department on Thursday.

Not much is known about the fatal crash. At around midnight on Thursday, police arrived at the 4100 block of Lake Underhill Road in Orlando after receiving a call about a vehicle crash with injuries.
Officers were able to take the 2-year-old child out of a vehicle and once members of the Orlando Fire Department got to the scene, they were able to take the 8-year-old child out, stated Lt. William Becton of the Orlando Police Department in a press release.
Becton stated that both children needed life-saving measures performed on them before they were transported to a hospital. The youngest died at the hospital and the older child is in critical unstable condition.
The children’s mother was taken to the hospital as well, but she is listed as serious but stable condition, Becton wrote.
The second driver was taken to the hospital and that person is in stable condition.
That section of road was closed for about an hour.
The crash is currently being investigated by the Traffic Homicide Unit.
