GREEN BAY, Wis. — With the 13th pick in the 2023 NFL Draft the Green Bay Packers selected Iowa edge rusher Lukas Van Ness.
The 6'5", 272 pound edge rusher was nicknamed "Hercules" at Iowa.
The Packers were looking for pass rushing help, since with Rashan Gary is expected to miss the start of the season as he recovers from an ACL injury.
Ironically, in his time in Iowa, he never started for the Hawkeyes.
In 2021, Van Ness was a freshman all-American and in 2022 he was named second-team All-Big Ten.
