ORLANDO, Fla.— UCF softball pitcher, Alea White, recently became the all-time wins leader for UCF softball.

“What an incredible accomplishment but she’s an amazing human being,” said Cindy Ball-Malone, UCF softball head coach.

With 81 wins and counting, White has cemented herself in Knights history.

“It’s truly unimaginable. This team is something special and we’ve said that from the beginning,” said Alea White, UCF softball all-time wins leader.

It’s her actions out of the pitching circle that make her a true leader for this team.

“We talk about one of our core values being Knight’s honor and that starts in our bullpen and in our pitching circle and it’s led by Alea,” said Ball-Malone.

Something White makes a priority.

“Means everything to me because as a softball player I’ve always tried my best to do the right thing on and off the field because you’re not only a softball player, you’re more than a softball player and I think that what you do off the field is what’s going to show on the field,” said White.

Last year White and the Knights were on their way to a record breaking season with the best start in program history then the coronavirus stopped everything.

“Watching what we did last year and having it cut short I knew it wasn’t a question that we had to come back and finish what we started,” said White.

Which meant this season they had some unfinished business.

“There’s a lot more left in season and I am just ready to have some fun and win some more games,” said White.

“I fear for anyone that tries to get in their way. They may get knocked down once but they’re not going to quit,” said Coach Ball-Malone.
