A famous guitar rock star is getting out of his comfort zone thanks to two people: his baby daughter and Frank Sinatra.
Mark Tremonti is best-known as the founding member of bands Creed and Alter Bridge. He has an overflow cabinet of awards, from Grammy Awards to Billboard Music Awards.
Mark and his wife Victoria have two sons and a 14-month baby, Stella. We were with Mark as he sang the alphabet to Stella, who was plunking away on a tiny pink piano. “They say that children with Down Syndrome have trouble speaking,” he says, referring to his little girl. “So singing is one of the best things.”
Mark says baby Stella has taught everyone in his family the same thing – happiness. “More happiness than I ever had, you know,” he says, choking up. “And I learned that a child with Down Syndrome is not something to be afraid of.”
Mark is stoked to now be a part of “Take a Chance for Charity.” It's a project that puts famous people well out of their comfort zone, all for the sake of the National Down Syndrome Society. So Mark – known for his unprecedented guitar skills – has recorded a record with the surviving members of Frank Sinatra's orchestra.
The “Tremonti Sings Sinatra” album comes out May 27, 2022. 100% of the proceeds – including merchandise – benefits those with Down Syndrome.
