ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — The westbound and eastbound Interstate 4 exit ramps to Sand Lake Road (State Road 482) at Exit 74A are scheduled to be closed overnight starting at 10 p.m. Sunday, March 2 through Friday, March 7, according to an announcement by the Florida Department of Transportation.
The ramps are scheduled to reopen by 5 a.m. each morning that week.
Construction schedules are subject to change because of weather or other unforeseen circumstances. FDOT urges drivers to follow all posted detour signs.
The westbound closure is for paving operations, FDOT said in its announcement.
Drivers traveling westbound on I-4 who want to get to Sand Lake Road during those dates should take Exit 74B onto Adventure Way. From there, they can turn right onto eastbound Hollywood Way, then turn right again onto southbound Universal Boulevard and proceed to Sand Lake Road. Or if they prefer, drivers can turn left onto westbound Hollywood Way from Adventure Way, then turn left again onto southbound Turkey Lake Road and head south to Sand Lake Road.
The eastbound ramp is being closed March 4-7 so overhead signs can be relocated.
On those nights, drivers heading east on I-4 who want to get to Sand Lake Road should drive past Exit 74A and take Exit 75A to Universal Boulevard. They can then turn right onto southbound Universal Boulevard and head to Sand Lake Road.
