BUNNELL, Fla. — The city of Bunnell late Tuesday afternoon issued a precautionary boil water notice for its customers after a water main was damaged.

A contractor working between South Booe and South Cherry streets hit the water main, affecting water pressure in the area. Affected areas include those roads, as well as South Pine Street and South Moore Street.

The city is urging residents and businesses in the area to boil tap water used for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth or washing dishes. Officials did not indicate how long they should continue to do so.

Crews are working to make repairs, and Bunnell's website will be updated when new information is available. Customers also can call Bunnell's utility department for additional information.
