ORLANDO, Fla. — Ahead of the highly anticipated Epic Universe grand opening, guests can discover another new destination during a space-themed overnight retreat.
Five Things to Know
- We just got our first look at Universal’s newest resort. Universal Stella Nova Resort is adjacent to the soon-to-open Epic Universe theme park.
- Stella Nova is cosmic-inspired. “It’s both vibrant and tranquil at the same time, if that makes sense,” said Russ Dagon, Universal Orlando Resort senior vice president of resort development. “But I think you kind of feel that when you walk through it.”
- The property has 750 double-queen guest rooms. Each features spaceship-style windows. The resort has a game room, rec room and fitness center. The Galaxy Bar outside is in close proximity to a resort-style (heated) pool.
- Everyone’s talking about the colors, especially what Universal pulled off with the exterior tiles. Universal said it had to find the right company to install all 140,000. “We personally visited their factory, and we were blown away," Dagon said. "We were like, ‘We have to figure out a way to do this.’ And it’s the largest scale that this has ever been done.”
- The food and drinks, too, are “out of this world “ — including cosmic-themed items. Stella Nova opens Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2025 and its sister property — called Terra Luna Resort — opens in March. This is all happening as Epic Universe opens to the world May 22. Epic is Universal Orlando Resort’s fourth theme park.
