George Trosset, the founder of Surfing Santas, said money raised today goes directly back to the community and that’s what makes this event special.
“If you buy a shirt, you’re supporting surfing Santas,” Trosset said. “This year we have 5,000 shirts to get rid of and with any luck, we’ll sell them all.”
Trosset said the event started in 2009 as a fun family outing and has grown to become an annual event many look forward to.
