Waylon disappeared on Sunday while at the park with his father and two siblings.

After hours of searching, the Volusia County Dive Team found the young boy dead in a body of water at the park.

Trisha Kelly, a friend of the Childs family, says they are asking for privacy, but spoke on who Waylon was.

"Waylon was a very happy-go-lucky, spunky boy," she said. "The second he walked into a room, he always lit up the room. His hugs and kisses were just so heartwarming."

Kelly adds that the family eventually wants to push for legislation requiring all playgrounds near bodies of water to have gates with child-lock fencing to prevent further tragedies.
