Julio Fuentes, the President & CEO of the Florida State Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, announced that the organization is endorsing Scott.

This weekend, a comedian at a Trump rally called Puerto Rico a “floating island of garbage.” Scott has denounced the comments, calling it a “bad joke.”

Scott then blasted President Joe Biden for referring to Trump supporters as “garbage,” Tuesday.

“Now, you know what’s disgusting is exactly what Joe Biden did. He called all of us garbage. He called every one of us that’s going to vote Republican. He calls us garbage,” Scott told reporters Wednesday.

Scott’s Democratic challenger Debbie Mucarsel-Powell has criticized Scott for not debating her.

Scott told reporters, “I’ve traveled the state. I’ve traveled to every county multiple times. I’ve been doing events all across it. And of course, you know, we had the hurricanes. We had quite a few hurricanes, and so I did that. And, so I’m traveling state, and I’m talking to people just like I’m doing here,” Scott said.

Mucarsel-Powell also hit Scott for joining conservative podcaster Laura Loomer’s show Tuesday to talk about his run for Senate Republican Leader.

“She’s somebody that believes in this country. She’s somebody that’s a big supporter of President Trump,” Scott said of Loomer.
