ORLANDO, Fla. — Orlando Police officers arrested eight Pro-Palestine protesters after an altercation downtown Saturday afternoon.

According to a media release, the arrests took place after the peaceful conclusion of a demonstration near Lake Eola.

Police found some of the demonstrators in an argument with someone. One of the demonstrators “lunged” toward an officer that was trying to separate them, leading to the initial arrest.

After that arrest, other demonstrators attempted to interfere with the arrest, according to police, and were arrested as well.

The eight demonstrators were arrested on charges that included Disorderly Conduct, Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer, Resisting Arrest with Violence, and Resisting Arrest without violence.

This is a developing story, and will be updated as information becomes available.
