ORLANDO, Fla. — Lake Eola now has a flock of new swans swimming in its waters.

Park staff introduced six new swans to the lake on Monday, Aug. 26.

The three pairs of swans, including Australian Black, Whooper and Trumpeter, will acclimate in a designated pen before joining more than 50 swans already populating the lake, city officials said.

The latest introduction will further enrich the park’s avian community and offer more to enjoy for the residents and visitors of Lake Eola, the city said.

City officials had said previously that they had found some swans from the lake dead earlier this year.

Lake Eola Park hosts swans from five distinct breeds, including:

  • Trumpeter swans
  • Black Neck swans
  • Whooper swans
  • Royal Mute swans
  • Australian Black swans
