ORLANDO, Fla. — Discovery Cove is asking fans to help choose a name for their newest dolphin.
Damara, a 16-year-old bottlenose dolphin, gave birth to her calf on Friday, March 29, at Discovery Cove. Since then, the female calf has been nursing, bonding with her mother and getting to know other members of her pod.
The animal care experts at Discovery Cove chose five names they feel are a good fit for the new dolphin.
Starting Tuesday, June 4, you can vote for your favorite.
The names include:
Dylan
Dahlia
Darcy
Daphne
Dorothy
Fans can vote by following @DiscoveryCove on Instagram, then voting on Instagram stories between June 4-9. The name of the dolphin will be announced on June 11.
