SUMTER COUNTY, Fla. — The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office has located a nonverbal autistic teen who had been missing since Monday, May 27.
In a Facebook post, the sheriff's office said Peyton Pickard, 16, was found safe and thanked community members for helping in the search.
Fire rescue companies from both Citrus and Sumter counties assisted in the search for the teen.
Details of what led to Pickard being found were not immediately released.
