DELAND, Fla. — The Central Florida Commuter Rail Commission plans to announce dates and next steps for the SunRail station in DeLand soon.

The expansion to DeLand has been highly anticipated, and will add about 12 miles of track from DeBary. 


What You Need To Know

  • The new DeLand SunRail connectivity includes 12.2 miles of track from DeBary

  • The current number of trains will not change, nor will CFCRC dispatch control

  • Non-passenger trains will begin running June 24 for review and approval from the FRA, and will consist of equipment, track and safety testing

CFCRC said a lot of work has been put in to create a seamless experience, and that they plan to keep the new schedule as closely aligned with current train times as possible.

Officials are collaborating with other transit operations to help ensure that passengers can easily get off of SunRail and on to other public transit systems.

SunRail plans to start testing operations on June 24, which will be reviewed and approved by the Federal Rail Administration.

After that, SunRail will officially update the train schedule.
