ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — A semi-truck overturned on State Road 417 near Lee Vista Boulevard on Friday morning, spilling muriatic acid onto the highway and blocking southbound traffic, authorities said.
According to Orange County Fire Rescue, about 12 gallons of muriatic acid, which is used in pools, spilled onto the expressway.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the truck did not remain in the center lane, veering into the inside lane. The driver overcorrected, and the semi overturned, FHP said.
The inside and center lane of southbound SR-417 remain closed, but the outside lane is open for traffic, authorities said. The crash remains under investigation by FHP.
The truck driver and a passenger were taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries, FHP said.
