ORLANDO, Fla. — In just a matter of days, tourists and central Florida residents will be able to get from Orlando International Airport to the heart of Orlando’s tourist hotspots like Universal and Disney Springs via a new bus route.

What You Need To Know

  • This new route comes as Orange County shifts their transit focus to smaller projects as the transportation sales tax initiative was recently suspended

  • Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings says the county will work to improve five major Lynx routes in the area

  • The Link 311 route starts at The Orlando International Airport and ends at the Disney Springs Transfer Center, making five stops along the way

This new Lynx route will be called Link 311.

It’s the first of many planned Lynx enhancements locals can expect to see.

Oniel Zapata, a Kissimmee resident, says he uses Lynx when can.

He says he likes this plan because he knows the shortcomings of the Lynx system.

“This is nice. The airport needs this. There’s a lot of tourists here, I see them take the bus sometime," Zapata said.

The Link 311 route starts at Orlando International Airport and ends at the Disney Springs Transfer Center, making five stops along the way.

Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings says this route is just the beginning.

“We’re primarily investing in the Lynx system. That’s because that is the mode of transportation that most of our workers use to get around our community,” Mayor Demings said.

Mayor Demings says the county will work to improve five major Lynx routes in the area.
