MARION COUNTY, Fla. — Residents of Fore Acres, Hillside Acres and Courtney Acres should boil water they use for drinking, cooking, and brushing teeth, Marion County Utilities announced Wednesday.

The public utility issued a precautionary boil water notice Wednesday because of a water main repair.

Water used for laundry, bathing, and/or showering does not need to be boiled.

Water testing will be performed and customers will be notified when the water meets standards required by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection and the boil water notice is lifted.
