ORLANDO, Fla. — SeaWorld Orlando has revealed details for its 60th Anniversary Celebration, which will kick off on March 21 and continue all year long.

What You Need To Know

March 21 marks 60 years to the day SeaWorld first opened in San Diego.

Officials with the park also announced that for a limited time, guests can buy tickets, annual passes and Fun Cards for up to 30% off. Officials also said guests can take advantage of the park's special $60 Anniversary Ticket, now available in limited quantities on select dates for the rest of the year.

Here are details about the 60th Anniversary launch party per SeaWorld Orlando, which will take place from March 21 to March 24:

  • Celebratory cake cutting at park opening with SeaWorld Orlando Park President Jon Peterson, which will take place each day at 10 a.m. Peterson will talk to guests and reflect upon SeaWorld’s 60 years. Attendees will receive a free cupcake, while supplies last.
  • New and exclusive vintage merchandise, which includes T-shirts, sweatshirts, hats, plush animals, snow globes, reusable water bottles, backpacks, notebooks, blankets, a custom Precious Moments collectible and more.
  • See Shamu and Crew together again for the first time in recent years, and take a commemorative picture with them. Costume characters include Shamu, Coral the Dolphin, Sydney the Shark and Puck the Penguin.
  • Share memorable moments in the parks from guests and ambassadors with commemorative in-park screens. SeaWorld is inviting guests to share their own images and videos of their favorite memories at the park using #SeaWorld60.
  • At the Pass Member’s Lounge, a special gallery with historic photos and memorabilia from the park over the past 60 years will be available to view.

This year, guests can also look forward to SeaWorld Orlando’s new attraction, "Penguin Trek," the park’s eighth coaster.

“Designed as THE ultimate family launch coaster experience, ‘Penguin Trek’ features a unique snowmobile styled ride car where once aboard, riders will embark on an exhilarating journey through the breathtaking vastness of Antarctica as they join a penguin research mission unlike any other,” SeaWorld Orlando said in a press release.

There will soon also be new presentations and shows, new food and beverage options and more exclusive, collectible merchandise, according to park officials.
