ORLANDO, Fla. — Cold weather shelters will open again Friday and Saturday nights in some Central Florida locations because temperatures are forecast to drop into the 40s and even 30s in some places.
Brevard County
- LifePointe Ministries at 4220 South Hopkins Ave. in Titusville will open an inclement-weather shelter at 5 p.m. Friday.
- The shelter will close at 8 a.m. Saturday, but then reopen again at 5 p.m. Saturday until 8 a.m. Sunday.
- Dinner and breakfast will be served.
- Daily Bread and community partners will host a cold weather shelter at the Joseph N. Davis Community Center located at 2547 Grant St. in Melbourne on Saturday beginning at 6 p.m.

Flagler County
- The Sheltering Tree will open its cold-weather shelter in Bunnell on Friday and Saturday nights at the Rock Transformation Center (formerly Church on the Rock) not only for the homeless, but for anyone who is without heat.
- Rock Transformation Center is located at 2200 N. State St.. The cold-weather shelter will open at 5 p.m. and will close at 8 a.m. the following day.
- The county will provide bus transportation along two routes, following the schedules below.
- On the eastern side of the county:
- Dollar General at Publix Town Center on Market Avenue (leads to Dollar General), 3:30 p.m.
- McDonald’s at Old Kings Road South and State Road 100 at the dirt road on the east side, 4 p.m.
- Dollar Tree behind Carrabba’s in the Dollar Tree parking lot, 4:30 p.m.
- Palm Coast Main Branch Library, northwest corner of Palm Coast Parkway and Belle Terre Parkway, 4:45 p.m.
- On the western side of the county:
- Dollar General at County Road 305 and Canal Avenue in Daytona North, 4 p.m.
- Bunnell Free Clinic, 703 Moody B.vd., 4:30 p.m.
- First United Methodist Church in Bunnell, 205 N. Pine Street, 4:30 p.m.
- On the eastern side of the county:
Lake County
- LifePointe Church at 3551 East Orange Avenue in Eustis will open a cold weather shelter to assist those vulnerable to freezing weather conditions at 5 p.m. Saturday.
- The shelter will close at 8 a.m. Sunday.
- The Lake County Connection bus service will provide free transportation for residents riding to the shelter from designated stops.
- Residents who need travel accommodations to the cold weather shelter may call Lake County Connection at (352) 742-2612 by 4 p.m. Friday to arrange transportation.
- Lake County buses will be available at 7 a.m. Sunday to transport residents to regularly scheduled stops.
- A warming center, managed by the Salvation Army at 2605 South St. in Leesburg, will open Saturday and Sunday mornings to assist residents outside of shelter hours.
- The warming center will be open from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Orange County
- The Salvation Army Men's Shelter at 624 Lexington Ave. in Orlando will provide a place to stay during cold weather Friday and Saturday night. Check-in time is 4 p.m. It also will open as a warming station during the day when the temperature falls below 50 degrees.
- No registration is required.
- This shelter is for men only.
- There is no charge for these services.

- In addition to the Salvation Army, the following locations will accept additional people – including women and families – on Saturday night beyond normal capacity. The region's shelters are typically full but accommodate additional people by opening offices, gyms and conference rooms.
- Coalition for the Homeless at 18 N. Terry Ave. in Orlando
- Orlando Union Outreach Mission men's facility at 3300 W. Colonial Dr. in Orlando
- Because of the extreme weather, shelters will not require identification, registration or fees, but pets are not allowed in the facilities.
- On Saturday afternoon, Lynx will provide free bus service from normal routes to anyone seeking to go to a shelter.
Osceola County
- First United Methodist Church at 1000 Ohio Ave. in St. Cloud and Solid Rock Community Church at 1904 Michigan Ave. in Kissimmee will serve as cold weather shelters for the homeless this weekend. Under a program activated when temperatures are expected to drop below 40 degrees for at least four consecutive hours, they will open at 6 p.m. each night as an overnight refuge.
- Those needing transportation to the locations can travel at no cost using LYNX buses by alerting drivers that they will be going to the cold weather shelter.
- People can sign up for alerts on their phone by texting "coldweather" to 888777.
Seminole County
- The Rescue Outreach Mission at 1701 W. 13th St. in Sanford will accept additional people on Saturday night beyond normal capacity. The region's shelters are typically full but accommodate additional people by opening offices, gyms and conference rooms.
- Because of the extreme weather, shelters will not require identification, registration or fees, but pets are not allowed.
- On Saturday afternoon, Lynx will provide free bus service from normal routes to anyone seeking to go to a shelter.
Volusia County
- People without an adequate heating source at their residence or who are without housing are encouraged to seek shelter through one of the following community organizations. Individuals requiring transportation assistance to these shelters should contact the organization on their side of the county for arrangements.
- On the west side, Neighborhood Center's The Bridge, located at 421 S. Palmetto Ave. in DeLand. Guests should arrive between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. For additional details, call 386-734-8120 ext. 601.
