ORLANDO, Fla. — Brightline is delaying the launch of its train service between Orlando and Miami.

In a statement released Monday, officials said they would not make the Sept. 1 date originally announced.
"We’re working through the final stages of certification and crew testing but it’s apparent that we won’t hit our opening weekend as planned," Brightline officials said in a statement.
Brightline had hoped to be loading passengers for Labor Day weekend.
It's now up in the air as to when trains will begin to run.
"We look forward to announcing an official date as soon as possible," Brightline officials added.
There had been a previous delay in high-speed testing, which resumed Monday in Brevard County.
The trains are currently running 110 mph tests from Cocoa to Micco every day from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Brightline is working to refund tickets already purchased, as well as provide a premium credit.
The train service is directing anyone with questions to its help center.
