Officers arrived at an area near Martin Luther King Blvd. and Park Drive around 6:30 a.m. after a man called 911 and said he had shot someone.
The caller identified himself as Jerome Anderson, according to police. In a news release, police said that officers found Anderson in front of a home on Park Drive holding a cell phone and a gun.
Police said the men who were shot were found in three different locations. Antoine Melvin, 42, was found in the kitchen area of the home. He died at the scene. The second man, 64-year-old John Burch, was found in the road in front of the house. He also died at the scene. Patrick Lassiter, 35, was found in the road on South Martin Luther King. He was taken to Halifax Hospital were he died.
Anderson was arrested on three counts of first-degree premeditated murder and possession of weapon ammo by a convicted felon. Police say they discovered Anderson had an active warrant in Volusia County for aggravated battery and tampering with a witness.
