RALEIGH, N.C. – President Joe Biden and first lady Jill Biden will make two stops in North Carolina next week to tout workforce training and outreach efforts to military service members.

The Bidens on Friday will visit Rocky Mount, N.C., to talk about workforce training for students, the White House announced in a news release Saturday evening.

The president and first lady also will stop at Fort Liberty, where they will meet military service members and promote Jill Biden’s Joining Forces effort, which aims to support veterans and service members and their families.

The base, originally named for Confederate Gen. Braxton Bragg, was officially renamed Fort Liberty on Friday as part of the Department of Defense’s effort to rebrand military installations that honor Confederate figures.

In March, President Biden came to North Carolina to begin his “Investing in America” tour to promote his economic agenda.
