The site at Camping World Stadium is now open 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Wednesday.
The agency expects tens of thousands of residents to come through the three-day event. Once the session wraps up on Wednesday, that will conclude the period to secure D-SNAP.
D-SNAP provides food assistance for individuals and families affected by Hurricane Ian who did not receive food aid benefits in October 2022 through the regular Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program.
"Whether your power went out or your fridge lost a whole bunch of food, whether you had to spend a lot of money to repair your house or prepare for it — those are trying times and we want to make sure that we're able to issue some benefits for those individuals that don't normally recieve them," Casey Penn with DCF said.
Households that already received D-SNAP assistance for Hurricane Ian are not eligible for additional benefits.
So far, staff said they have already helped around 50,000 people the past two months.
Orange County residents who already completed a phone interview do not have to complete an in-person interview. Residents only need to pre-register if they have not previously done so.
Phone interviews will also be available from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday by calling 888-348-0408 or 855-278-7136.
