The Walt Disney Company will honor 14 new Disney Legends at its D23 Expo next month.

Among this year's inductees are Robert “Bob” Price Foster, the man who secretly bought parcels of land for the Florida Project which eventually became Walt Disney World, and "Black Panther" star Chadwick Boseman, who died from colon cancer in 2020.
Other honorees include Anthony Anderson, Kristen Bell, Rob’t Coltrin, Patrick Dempsey, Josh Gad, Jonathan Groff, Don Hahn, Doris Hardoon,, Idina Menzel, Chris Montan, Ellen Pompeo and Tracee Ellis Ross.
The Disney Legends award is given to individuals who have made “a significant impact” on the Disney legacy. The first ever Disney Legend honoree was actor Fred MacMurray in 1987. In the years since, over 300 people have been named Disney Legends, including Marty Sklar, Tony Baxter, James Earl Jones, Christina Aguilera, George Lucas, Julie Andrews and Betty White.
The ceremony, set for Sept. 9 at 10:30 a.m., will be hosted by Tamron Hall. Disney also plans to live-stream the ceremony.
In addition to the Disney Legends ceremony, D23 Expo will include presentations from divisions across the Walt Disney Company, including Disney Parks, Experiences and Products, which will share news and updates during a parks panel scheduled for Sept. 11.
D23 Expo is scheduled for Sept. 9-11 at the Anaheim Convention Center.
