CASSELBERRY, Fla. — Casselberry Police are investigating the motive behind an alleged triple homicide and suicide.

It happened early Tuesday morning at the Carrington Park Condominium off Banyon Tree Circle. 

According to police, a 911 call came in at 7:15 a.m. from a 15-year-old boy saying he had been shot. When officers arrived on scene they found four people shot inside an apartment — two women, a man, and the teen. Paramedics started trauma care but all four died from their wounds. Police say the suspect had no arrest record, but his wife called 911 just a week before saying she was concerned he bought a gun. Officers responded but say no crime was committed. 

"A 15-year-old man is dead for reasons we do not know, we don’t know and we wish we did … it is very troubling,” said Casselberry Police Chief Chief Larry Krantz during a news conference Tuesday afternoon. 

Neighbors were shocked to hear what happened and see investigators swarm their neighborhood.  

"I was surprised, its been a very peaceful neighborhood so I was stunned," said Leon Gonzalez, who lives nearby. 

According to police, the wife had previously called 911 in 2019 and the husband called in 2020. Both times no crimes were reported. Police said it is possible that there was domestic violence that went unreported. 

"If you are in a relationship that is involving acts of domestic violence, report them," said Krantz. "Allow law enforcement to work, allow us to get involved."

Despite this happening in the complex, Gonzalez said he still feels safe. He says when it comes to situations like this — there is not much anyone can do.

"People sometimes, they have their own problems in their mind, nobody knows it, nobody knows it until something happens," said Gonzalez. "It is very difficult to predict what is going to happen.”

Police said when officers responded to the apartment last week, they did give the wife information about resources available to her if her husband was threatening her, however, she said no crime had been committed. Now investigators are digging into their past to try to figure out what could have caused this.
