ORLANDO, Fla. — Whovians, rejoice! MegaCon Orlando is adding one of the Doctors to its guest list.

Christopher Eccleston, known to many as the Ninth Doctor in the “Doctor Who” series will be at the convention this summer.
Eccleston, whose credits also include “Thor: The Dark World” and HBO’s “The Leftovers,” joins a growing guest list that includes William Shatner, George Takei and Brendan Fraser.
More celebrity guests will be announced soon, according to MegaCon.
In addition to celebrity guests, the convention will feature family-friendly activities, workshops, enhanced anime programming, cosplay contests and shopping.
MegaCon returns to Orlando this year as an in-person event, taking over the Orange County Convention Center from August 12 through August 15.
“We’re thrilled to welcome our fans back to MegaCon Orlando this summer — a playground for fans of comics, sci-fi, gaming and more for an impressive weekend of programming, celebrity appearances and interactives,” Fan Expo HQ vice president Andrew Moyes.
MegaCon said it plans to have measures in place to ensure the health and safety of attendees. Those measures will be announced a month before the event.
