ORLANDO, Fla. — A 6-year-old child died about a week after getting caught in a roll-up parking garage gate in downtown Orlando, police confirmed Saturday.
According to Orlando Fire Rescue, officers responded to the 300 block of West Concord Street at 10 a.m. May 29.
Officers were able to get the child out and began CPR. The boy was transported to the hospital in serious condition.
Authorities initially said the boy died but issued a correction that said the boy was in critical condition. His identity has not been released.
Police officials are calling it a tragic accident.
