DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — A manhunt is underway for a felon suspected of a fatally shooting a man early Wednesday in Daytona Beach.

Jermaine Antone Jackson, 36, is accused of gunning down 23-year-old Warrick Williams at 10:32 a.m. Wednesday at 822 Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune Blvd., according to the Daytona Beach Police Department.
“Upon arrival, officers found the adult male victim inside the business, suffering from gunshot wounds to the upper body area,” a police statement said. “The victim had passed away by the time officers arrived on scene.”
Police said Jackson was inside the building when Williams drove up and walked into the business.
“The victim and suspect got into an altercation,” police said. “The suspect shot the victim multiple times, striking him in the upper body area.”
Jackson left and ran north to an “unknown location,” investigators said.
“The suspect and victim are known to each other,” police added. “At this time, this incident is not connected to other recent incidents. This is an isolated incident as we continue to ensure the safety of our residents and visitors of the City of Daytona Beach.”
Jackson served six years in a Florida prison for a cocaine conviction in Volusia County in 2004.
