On August 18th, 2017, a Marine Corps veteran fatally shot Officer Matthew Baxter and his supervisor Sergeant Sam Howard, while the two were out patrolling.
Baxter’s daughters, Sariah, Zarah and Sofia, are now 10, 4 and 3. Their recollection of “daddy Matthew” is limited, but these girls say they cherish the little memories they do have.
“It’s sad sometimes because my sisters don’t get to have that much memory of him because they were so little at the time,” Sariah said.
The Kissimmee Police Department recently finished building a brand new training range for the agency in honor of the two heroes.
