OCALA, Fla. -- Three people were killed, one driver was critically injured, and a 10-year-old Ocala girl suffered serious injuries in a head-on, three-vehicle crash in Marion County early Friday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash happened at 6:20 a.m. Friday on State Road 200 south of County Road 484, according to a preliminary crash report from FHP Lt. Patrick Riordan.
That’s about 20 miles southwest of Ocala.
A pickup towing a 12-foot trailer was heading east on SR-200 when it crossed the center line and crashed head-on into a westbound sedan, causing the sedan to rotate and veer off the roadway to the right, troopers said.
Then the front of the pickup hit the left side of a westbound sedan that was behind the first sedan, according to the FHP.
The second sedan rotated and veered off the roadway to the right. The pickup came to a final rest facing northwest across the westbound lane. Its trailer ended up facing north, partially in both the east and westbound lanes, FHP said.
The pickup’s driver, a 60-year-old Crystal River man, suffered critical injuries.
The driver of the first pickup, a 39-year-old woman and a 16-year-old female passenger, both from Ocala, died. A 10-year-old Ocala girl in that vehicle suffered serious injuries.
The driver of the second sedan, a 73-year-old Ocala woman, died.
FHP did not name anyone. An investigation is ongoing.
