MONTGOMERY, A.L. – A statue of Civil Rights icon Rosa Parks now stands in Montgomery, Alabama.
It was unveiled Sunday, 30 feet from the sport where Parks is believed to have boarded that faithful bus 64 years ago and refused to give up her seat to a white man.
Her arrest prompted a 381-day boycott of the Montgomery Bus System organized by Reverend Doctor Martin Luther King Jr.
Parks passed away in 2005 at the age of 95.
