NATIONWIDE -- Hasbro is giving one of its most popular board games a makeover.
- Hasbro launches Ms. Monopoly
- Board game celebrate women trailblazers
- Women will be paid more when passing "Go"
The company on Tuesday announced Ms. Monopoly in celebration of women trailblazers.
Instead of buying property, players will invest in inventions made by women throughout history.
And in a twist, women will have an advantage over men. In the classic Monopoly game, players collect $200 when they pass "Go." But in Ms. Monopoly, women will get paid more—$240 to the usual $200. Women will also get a higher payout at the start of the game, according to Hasbro.
Ms. Monopoly is a "game that creates a world where women have an advantage often enjoyed by men," Hasbro said in a news release. "However, if men play their cards right, they can make more money too."
The game, which retails for $19.99, will hit store shelves nationwide this month.
