A hit-and-run suspect who police say crashed his vehicle into an Orange County home Wednesday afternoon has been arrested, according to Orlando police.
Clarence McClendon, 27, is charged with fleeing and attempting to elude a law enforcement officer.
Just after 2 p.m. Wednesday, investigators said officers saw a silver vehicle traveling south on Rio Grande. The vehicle matched the description of a vehicle that had been involved in a hit and run with injuries, police said.
The officer attempted to pull the vehicle over and conduct a traffic stop, but vehicle accelerated through the intersection, according to the police affidavit.
Investigators said McClendon lost control and crashed into the front of a house located at the corner of 19th Street and Rio Grande Ave.
McClendon declined to be taken to the hospital for treatment. He was taken to the Booking and Release Center in Orlando.
