A weak cold front sweeping down the peninsula this evening with bring with it another brief shot of cool air to round out our work week. We'll wake up with lows in the upper 40s, then under a mostly sunny sky see temperatures level off around 70. It'll be breezy at times too, with a high fire danger sticking around.
Mostly sunny and warmer conditions are on the way for our upcoming weekend. Highs on Saturday are in the upper 70s, and climb into the lower 80s for Sunday afternoon. The next weak cold front arrives Monday night with a few showers lingering into Tuesday morning.

Trump has derided the Department of Education as wasteful and polluted by liberal ideology. However, finalizing its dismantling is likely impossible without an act of Congress, which created the department in 1979.
2. Sen. Moody announces Helper Act to assist U.S. law enforcement with homeownership
Florida Senator Ashley Moody, along with Georgia Sen. Jon Ossoff, introduced the bipartisan Homes for Every Local Protector, Educator, and Responder (HELPER) Act of 2025 in March.
3. New Florida bill tightening hemp regulations sparks business concerns
The bill would ban any amount of synthetic cannabinoids, as well as some that can occur naturally, including delta-8.
4. TikTok launches Amber Alerts to help find missing children
The real-time alerts will be pushed to users’ feeds in the missing child’s designated search area after law enforcement first issues them.
5. Orlando ministry takes step to seek county approval for its development plan for teen crisis shelter
The group first presented its development plan to the Planning and Zoning Commission in January and was granted a continuation to give it time to address multiple county code violations, some dating back to 2021.
6. NASA Causeway bridge opens months ahead of schedule
The more than 4,000-foot bridge spans the Indian River on State Road 405.

Pitchers Tyler Holton and Will Vest, infielders Zach McKinstry and Colt Keith and outfielder Matt Vierling visited Animal Kingdom, where they enjoyed attractions such as Expedition Everest and Kilimanjaro Safaris, according to Disney World officials. A high point of the trip was meeting a critically endangered nearly six-month-old Sumatran tiger, Bakso, the newest resident at the park. The Detroit Tigers will play the Baltimore Orioles tomorrow at 6:05 p.m.
