ORLANDO, Fla. — Disney officials confirmed many new attractions coming to both its Disney World and Disneyland parks at its D23 convention in Anaheim, Calif.

From new lands based on the Disney Villains, the "Cars" franchise and the Tropical Americas, to attractions centered around the "Coco" and "Avatar" movies, here's a list of what's coming soon.

What You Need To Know

Disney World

  • Disney's Animal Kingdom will be getting a new 11-acre land called Tropical Americas that includes the lush town of Pueblo Esperanza that has a large fountain, an open-air market and a hacienda that will be one of the largest quick-service restaurants at Walt Disney World. The new land also will feature three signature attractions, with "Indiana Jones" and "Encanto" themes and a carousel featuring intricate wood carvings of animals from Disney stories. Guests will get to explore a recently discovered Mayan temple, where Indiana Jones has heard rumors about a mythical creature deep from within. In the "Encanto"-themed attraction, guests can join Antonio on an adventure after he discovers his special gift and his room transforms into a rainforest. Members of the Madrigal family will be along the way. Tropical Americas will replace Dinosaur. Tropical Americas will open in 2027.

  • A "Zootopia"-themed show will also be coming to Disney's Animal Kingdom. “Zootopia: Better Zoogether!” will take guests on an adventure through different biomes seen in the film and opens next winter.

  • A new Villains land will be coming to Magic Kingdom, featuring iconic villains from some of Walt Disney Animation Studios' classic films. “Be prepared, you poor unfortunate souls. It’s going to be a fearless new vision for what a Disney experience can be,” Disney Experiences Chairman Josh D’Amaro said during D23's Horizons: Disney Experiences Showcase.
  • Attractions based on the "Cars" franchise will be coming to Magic Kingdom's Frontierland in 2025. One attraction will be a rally race through the mountains and the second will be one geared more toward kids.

  • The "Monsters, Inc." franchise will be making its way to Disney's Hollywood Studios with a new land. It will feature a suspended roller coaster — a first for the park. The attraction will be based in the movie's "Laugh Factory," where guests will be able to ride around the door vault. Guests will also be able to stroll the streets alongside some favorite monsters such as Mike and Sulley.

  • Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge in Disney's Hollywood Studios will be getting new additions at both Disney World and Disneyland locations: guests will be getting a new story featuring Mando and Grogu in the "Millenium Falcon: Smugglers Run" attraction.

  • EPCOT's reimagined attraction, "Test Track," will open in 2025. Spaceship Earth also will be the site of a new lounge for refreshments and a chance to chill out.

  • In the Magic Kingdom, a new nighttime parade will debut in summer 2025. The Blue Fairy will bring to life Disney tales of Anna and Elsa, Peter Pan, the Madrigal family and others. Adventureland also will get a pirate-themed tavern that year.

Disneyland

  • "Coco" will be getting its first Disney parks attraction at Disney California Adventure. The attraction will be filled with characters and music from the movie, as guests join Miguel on a trip to the land of the dead. D'Amaro said the attraction will be inspired from other rides like "Haunted Mansion" and "Pirates of the Caribbean." Ground breaking will begin in 2026.

  • The "Avatar" franchise will be getting its own land at Disney's California Adventure, with inspiration from the movies, "Avatar: The Way of Water" and "Avatar: Fire and Ash."

  • The size of Avengers Campus at Disneyland will double with two new attractions. Guests on "Avengers Infinity Defense" will get to jump between worlds with the Avengers as they take on King Thanos face-to-face. Guests will also get to test out new tech in "Stark Flight Lab." Robert Downey Jr. reprises his role as Tony Stark for the attraction.

  • D’Amaro announced a new tribute to Walt Disney coming to Disneyland. The company is creating the first audio-animatronic based on Walt Disney himself, and he'll be featured in a show called "Walt Disney —A Magical Life" at Disneyland's Main Street Opera in 2025. “Creating our first Walt figure is a huge responsibility, and we’ve brought members of the Disney family along with us for every step of the journey,” D'Amaro said.

  • "Tiana's Bayou Adventure" will be opening this year on Nov. 15. The ride is currently open at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom.
